Aussie/Tassie Peacock Spider A3 Print

Inspired by the iconic Aussie Posters that were pasted all across the country by the incredible creative mastermind of Peter Drew. This poster features illustrations of 2 species of the under appreciated arachnids that originate solely from Australia, with one being found predominantly in Lutruwita/Tasmania & named accordingly. To further accentuate this spider’s scientific name (Maratus tasmanicus) the dark sections in the upper outer parts of its abdomen have been manipulated to appear as symmetrical silhouettes of the island’s shape. I also want to acknowledge that the illustrations owe much of their gorgeous details to the incredible work of leading Peacock Spider enthusiast & expert Jurgen Otto.
